Guided tour for families: walking in Val d’Orcia with kids and adults
The Val d’Orcia lends itself perfectly to guided tours for little explorers. Villages, castles, farmhouses immersed in a sweet hilly landscape. The tour starts with Montalcino: the guide will accompany the whole family to discover this medieval village perched on one of the highest hills in the area, with magnificent views across the valley. From here along the Via Francigena, one of the most important arteries of the Middle Ages – you will reach Bagno Vignoni, consisting of a handful of houses gathered around the sixteenth-century pool that collects the thermal waters whose benefits were known since Roman times. The waters that come out of the thermal bath, then go towards the steep escarpment of the Parco dei Mulini which is very suggestive in its height difference. From here, you will experience the beautiful view of the Rocca di Tentennano, the destination of our next stop: built in the 12th century as a sentinel of the entire valley, particularly of the Via Francigena, which passes right below. You can’t miss climbing to the top of the Rocca where the panorama will enchant young and adults!
Admission fee recommended: Rocca di Tentennano.
