Urban trekking: 360° guided tour of San Gimignano
Pleasant walk with our guide to learn about the history, urban planning and life of the Middle Ages of this town as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll begin the tour through one of the main entries of the town, and then follow the path of the walls to reach the house where Santa Fina, the saint of violets, was born. After learning about her history, the visit continues to the springs outside the walls and, on our way back, we will meet the Church of the Templars which, as the Knights Hospitallers of San Giovanni, hosted pilgrims traveling on the Via Francigena.
Always skirting the walls along a covered path, you’ll get to the top of the Rocca di Montestaffoli built by the Florentines in 1353. From up there, the view over the town and its towers is extraordinary. It is worth making a little effort to go down again and admire the squares of the Cisterna, as well as the Duomo where the Middle Ages can be truly experienced. Throughout our guided tour you will always be surrounded by the towers of San Gimignano, that have always characterized the skyline.
