Urban trekking: guided tour of Florence and Dante

Starting from 125 €

A guided tour of Florence exploring the places where the poet was born and lived—in search of the characters and facts from which he drew inspiration for his Comedy. We are at the time when the struggles between Guelphs and Ghibellines broke out in a dramatic way, whose conflict went well beyond the city limits. These are the years in which Florence was one of the largest cities in Europe and lived its golden age as a free Municipality: outside the walls it was consolidating its dominion in Tuscany; inside the walls it was building its most monumental buildings, the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio. Dante’s Florence is largely lost, overwhelmed by the impressive urban development that the city has had subsequently, of which Dante only saw the beginning. With our guide, the children will ‘hunt’ the city in which the poet lived: the guided tour will touch those places and buildings that still exist today, whether in an integral or modified way, of which Dante speaks in his work. The many plaques scattered around the city with verses reported by the Divine Comedy will help us, in a sort of thread to follow, during this city path.
